I saw Mk.gee at the Hollywood Palladium a couple days ago. I was really looking forward to hearing him play guitar live, and let’s just say that it exceeded my expectations. The only way to describe it is like watching a master chef in the kitchen or a painter in the studio; equal parts of chaos and beauty. He’ll slam the strings or strum them carefully, filling the venue with so much texture. Yay!!

Workwear and exaggeratred shapes. Color blocking is nice to look at. Shape of that pant panel is awesome.

Needle Felting Study
Found this darling Kaptial cashmere jumper at the Hid.n pop up this past weekend and was nicely priced due to the little moth holes peppered all over.
After researching different methods of mending, I decided on needle felting. It allowed me to have fun with the process while paying homage to the design language of Kapital.
I look forward to implementing this method to future projects.

Went to a Tanukichan show at the Lodge Room in Highland Park and while I was in line for the bathroom I noticed that me and the other girls in line were wearing different versions of Doc Martens and hitting different flavors of vapes. Same girl different flavor. I love being a girl. ︎

Needle Felting Study

Why are we still ok with Dov Charney / LA Apparel?? His law suits are still ongoing. Creepy guy and also bankrupt high key. Will not be supporting LA Apparel until I see something done to repair his wrongs.
*If you want nice and sustainable basics I recommend Everybody.World. Super nice silouettes too. It’s like eating at a nice restaurant: limited offering means you can expect it to be f*cking good... and E.W is chef’s kiss good.

In my Ugly Betty era. Something abour her makes me feel seen?? Just an outsider in the fashion world lol. And being socially awkward in the corporate space.
The set design for this show is also just impeccable.

Mowalola Studies. Watched a couple runways on YouTube and it’s interesting that all the comments were about the soundtrack rather than the garments. Perfect example of the meshing of music and fashion are intersecting now more than ever. (The soundtrack was indeed great, to be fair.) Mowalola as a designer is respectable - she’s got passion and a vision that works. In an interview she said something along the lines of: “Don’t do what I’m doing. Im gonna do my own thing and you do yours.” I loved that.

Don’t care for the varsity logo plastered across the pieces but the colors and the fit of this set are nice. I’d wear this.

The messaging here went over my head. It’s camp but not in a good way. Flag skirts were interesting.

This is my first entry in my virtual junk journal. I feel this is a more intimate experience than a tumblr page but this is exactly how I’m going to treat it. Dad is across the room practicing his DJ set. I’ve heard the chorus of Our Lips Are Sealed by The Go-Go’s and Just Can’t Get Enough by Depeche Mode countless times. Sipping on peppermint tea. For dinner we went to the thai spot we’ve been going to for over a decade (below)
